Skywriting
Skywriting is almost a thing of the past. However, it is a very eye catching and unusual form of advertising. Skywriting can also be a very unique way to deliver a personal message. Once people see it in progress they normally watch every step of the way anticipating the end result.
Skywriting is done at an altitude of about 10,000 feet where it can be seen for about twenty miles in all directions. The letters are very large and stay in the sky for ten to twenty minutes or more, depending on the sky conditions. For best results, the sky should be clear and the message should be short. On longer messages the first letters tend to dissipate before the whole message can be written.
The Piper Super Cub above is what I use for skywriting.
The rates are $800 (for up to 30 letters) for local skywriting (60mi radius from Monroe, WA). Out of town, the rates are $1000 (for up to 30 letters), $120 per hour ferry time, plus expenses. I can write up to 32-36 normal-size letters per flight.
